Before buying a domain through Register99, get written answers about who will be listed as its holder, how you can manage its DNS, and what it will cost to move it elsewhere. Our experience assisting CA Attics raises concerns about those issues. The dispute is still unresolved, and several original records are being collected for this report.
QA Digital works with CA Attics. We are reporting our involvement, not presenting ourselves as an independent customer-review service. Our assessment of this case is not a finding that every Register99 customer has had the same experience.
What do Register99’s reviews say?
On October 9, 2026, Register99’s Trustpilot profile showed 2.7/5 from nine reviews: seven five-star and two one-star. This small sample includes both praise for support and complaints about access and transfers.
The September review by “Team Member” resembles this case; we are not counting it as independent corroboration. Review claims are not independently verified.
What happened with CA Attics?
Our agency’s contemporaneous project records show the team trying to move californiaatticsolutions.com away from Register99. On August 26, our technical contact shared a support response attributed to Register99 requesting a one-time $299.99 transfer/recovery fee before making the authorization code available.
Later project updates described difficulty managing DNS, repeated loss of website access, and efforts to obtain help from Dynadot. On October 7, our technical contact reported restoring the website on the alternative domain caatticssolutions.com. Recovery of the original domain remained open on October 8.
These entries establish what our team reported at the time. We are gathering the original support exchanges, renewal invoices and registrar response so readers can examine the underlying documents with private information removed.
Was the transfer fee paid?
Our technical contact says the client attempted a cryptocurrency payment using a different network from the one requested. We have not yet verified the payment instructions, transaction or recipient’s response. We therefore cannot conclude that Register99 received or retained that payment.
The domain-renewal payment is a separate issue. Our team reports a renewal through 2027; the original invoice and the explanation for the subsequent service interruption are still being assembled.
What should a buyer check?
Ask the provider to confirm in writing:
Who will be recorded as the domain holder, and how you can verify it.
Whether you can change DNS and choose hosting and email separately.
What restrictions, fees and steps apply when transferring away.
Which payment methods are accepted and what happens if a payment fails.
How renewal dates and service interruptions are communicated.
Keep your invoices and support messages, and maintain a website backup outside the hosting account. A review score cannot replace checking these practical terms.
Our assessment and what comes next
Based on the difficulties our team has reported in this case, we would not recommend choosing Register99 without first resolving those concerns in writing. This is our assessment of a client experience, not an allegation that a crime has been established.
We will add the original evidence and the outcome of the recovery effort as they become available. Any response from Register99 or Dynadot included in those records will be represented with its relevant context. Personal names, private contact details, payment identifiers and account credentials will not be published.
